Were you receiving a Social Security or SSI check and now it has stopped?
You will receive a letter stating that your benefits will be stopped. Take it to your local Social Security office and ask them for a complete explanation. If your checks stopped because of a medical review, you may have 10 days to file an appeal in order to have your checks continue through the appeals process.

Have you been overpaid by Social Security?
Take the letter telling you about the overpayment to your local Social Security office and ask them for a complete explanation of what has occurred. If you were overpaid, the office may need to request your folder to answer your questions, so don’t expect an immediate answer.
